Good news for ACCIONA Water that makes its entry in Qatar with the construction of the two biggest desalination plants in the country. The sum of the contracts for ACCIONA Agua is $525m (~€462m).

Qatar Electricity & Water Co. (QEWC) has awarded ACCIONA Agua – in a temporary JV with Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) and Toyo Thai Corporation Company Limited (TTCL) – the design, construction and later O&M of the two desalination plants. This is the first time reverse osmosis will be used in the country on a large scale.

The two plants have a combined capacity of 450,000 m3 per day.
